Title: Senior Data Engineer
Department: Technology
Reports to: Director of Engineering
We are a high-growth company committed to transforming our industry through intelligent automation and data-driven decision-making. Our team moves fast, builds smart, and measures everything. If you thrive in an environment where your machine learning pipelines and AI products directly drive business outcomes, you’ll fit right in.
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can hit the ground running. You will be a core builder of our data infrastructure, owning end-to-end pipelines, shaping our Microsoft Fabric environment, and leading API integration work as we scale. This role is ideal for someone who can take a rough requirement, ask the right clarifying question, and ship both accurately and quickly. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing your own time, surfacing blockers early, and delivering production-quality work with minimal oversight.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Power BI datasets).
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all pipeline outputs.
• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, data quality issues, and architectural improvements.
• Lead and execute API integrations with payer systems, EHR platforms, clearinghouses, and internal tools as we expand our connectivity footprint.
• Translate business and operational requirements from stakeholders into clean, well-documented technical solutions.
• Collaborate with program management, product, and operations teams to surface the right data at the right time.
• Document work clearly so the team can build on it.
• Manage own workload, prioritize effectively, and communicate progress and blockers without being prompted.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Strong grasp of data modeling, ETL/ELT design patterns, and data warehouse concepts.
• Ability to work from high-level requirements and independently drive solutions to completion.
• Self-directed: manages own queue, asks smart questions, and doesn’t wait to be told what to do next.
• Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, modern data warehouse technologies, and Medallion architecture.
• Experience with complex DAX language and ability to simplify joins and/or migrate into semantic models.
• Experience with data orchestration, automation, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Ability to mentor data engineers to produce high-quality work that is both precise and quick to deliver.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and envision the final product.
• Experience in healthcare, RCM, or a similarly regulated, data-intensive industry.
• Familiarity with HL7/FHIR standards or payer/clearinghouse API ecosystems.
• Exposure to Agile or Scrum workflows.
• Comfort working in a high-growth, startup-adjacent environment where priorities can shift quickly.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or a demonstrable ability to ramp quickly (Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Power BI Premium experience strongly considered).
• Proven experience building and maintaining REST API integrations in a production environment.
• A track record of delivering accurate, production-quality work under real timelines.
• Relevant cloud, database, or data engineering certifications.
• Experience in healthcare, RCM, or a similarly regulated, data-intensive industry.
• 100% remote first company to foster flexibility, inclusivity, and autonomy.
• Competitive salary and performance-based increases.
• Comprehensive health insurance plans.
• Retirement savings plan (401(k)) with employer matching.
• Responsible PTO and holidays.
• Professional development opportunities.
• Collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Recognized as a Great Place to Work by our employees.
