Over the past decade, our mission has been simple: expand access to care by removing the financial and administrative barriers that stand between patients and treatment. Along the way, our team has been recognized as some of the most influential voices shaping the future of behavioral health.
Through the Behavioral Health Business (BHB) Future Leaders Awards, Hansei leaders have been honored for their innovation, advocacy, and commitment to transforming care delivery. This recognition isn’t just about individual achievement. It’s a reflection of the culture, expertise, and forward-thinking mindset that defines who we are.
The BHB Future Leaders Awards recognize professionals under 40 who are nominated by their peers for their ability to turn vision into action and advocate for patients and providers. These are the individuals shaping the next decade of behavioral health—driving innovation, improving access, and redefining industry standards.
Earning this recognition three years in a row is more than an accomplishment—it’s a testament to the impact we’re making.
In 2023, Hansei’s founder, Erin Burke, was recognized as a Future Leader for her trailblazing work in behavioral health revenue cycle management, delivery, and expertise.
Erin’s journey began with a deep curiosity about healthcare systems and a passion for improving them. With a background in systems engineering and firsthand exposure to inefficiencies in behavioral health billing, she saw an opportunity to build something better—something that could help providers operate more effectively and ultimately expand access to care.

“I’ve always been drawn to healthcare. At one point, I thought I wanted to be a doctor, but over time I realized my path was really in understanding the infrastructure behind it—the systems that make care possible. That led me to pursue systems engineering while continuing to work in healthcare environments, which became the foundation for everything I do today. And the reality is, behavioral health touches all of us—whether personally or through someone we love.
What excites me about the future of behavioral health is that it’s constantly evolving. We’re still only scratching the surface of what treatments are truly effective, and there’s so much more to learn. At the same time, there’s a real opportunity—and need—for greater sophistication in how we measure outcomes. Standardizing those measures and using that data effectively can help us move the needle toward delivering better care, and ultimately ensure that care is reimbursed fairly by payers.”
– Erin Burke, Founder & CEO of Hansei Solutions
“Not only has she grown Hansei’s revenue and expanded its reach across the country, but she has done so while maintaining positive relationships with her employees and customers. Of all my clients, I can’t think of one that has a higher employee and customer retention rate—Hansei still has many of the same employees and many of the same customers as when I met Erin over six years ago. I firmly believe that employee and customer retention reflects the health of a business, the values of its leadership, and that it begins at the top.”
– Michael Soter, Esq., Law Offices of Michael A. Soter
Erin’s leadership philosophy is rooted in continuous improvement—a concept embedded in the name “Hansei,” which means to reflect, learn, and move forward stronger.
Under her leadership, Hansei has grown into a national leader in revenue cycle management, redefining how providers navigate payer systems and empowering them to focus on what matters most: patient care.
In 2024, Brittany Hines was named a Future Leader for her work advancing technology and innovation in behavioral health.
As Director of Product for Benji EMR, a Hansei company, Brittany has been instrumental in developing integrated solutions that connect clinical care with financial operations—simplifying complex workflows for providers. Her work has helped shape a new standard for how behavioral health organizations operate—leveraging automation, data, and thoughtful design to improve both efficiency and patient outcomes.

“If I could change one thing for the future of behavioral health care, it would be to shift how insurance companies approach and cover long-term treatment. The current focus is often on short-term solutions, but meaningful recovery – especially for those with deep-seated mental health and addiction challenges – requires sustained, comprehensive care. To address this, our continued work on the EMR system is key. With Benji, we’re equipping facilities with the tools to meet regulatory standards and secure the necessary documentation for long-term care approval. By streamlining processes and making it easier for providers to justify extended care, we can help ensure patients receive the ongoing support crucial for lasting recovery, ultimately mitigating the devastating effects of untreated mental health and addiction issues.”
– Brittany Hines, Director of Product, Benji, A Hansei Company
“Brittany is bright, articulate, innovative, and incredibly hard-working. Her enthusiasm for the job comes through in everything she does. She is dedicated, loyal, very detailed and takes great pride in her work. Her positive attitude makes her a pleasure to work with and is one of the reasons she is so well-liked by her coworkers and is sought out by employees of other facilities. I cannot think of a more worthy candidate, and Brittany has positively touched many lives already in her short career, both as a colleague and to the many clients she has helped in their journey. I have no doubt she will continue to be a leader in the behavioral health field.”
– Victoria Delheimer, LPC-MHSP, LMFT, CCTP, CDWF
Beyond technology, Brittany’s leadership is defined by compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of those navigating mental health and substance use challenges.
In 2025, Alexxis Ames was recognized for her impact on both operational excellence and patient-centered outcomes through the Future Leaders Award.
Known for her strategic mindset and people-first approach, Alexxis plays a critical role in bridging the gap between revenue cycle operations and real-world care delivery. Her work ensures that providers can focus on healing—while Hansei handles the complexity behind the scenes.

“Behavioral Health leadership isn’t about always having the answers — it’s about creating space for your team to bring theirs. In behavioral health, empathy and trust are essential not just in clinical care, but in management and collaboration too.”
– Alexxis Ames, VP of Client Services, Hansei Solutions
“Alexxis brings a deep and nuanced understanding of the revenue cycle management process, which is critical in today’s behavioral health landscape. Her dedication to ethical, accurate, and client-centered billing practices has made her a trusted asset not only to Asana Recovery but to the broader industry.”
— Mark Shandrow, CEO, Asana Recovery
Alexxis embodies what it means to lead in behavioral health today: combining technical expertise with empathy, collaboration, and a relentless commitment to doing what’s right for patients and partners alike.
In 2026, Emiy Roy joined this growing legacy of leadership, recognized for her impact on both operational excellence and patient-centered outcomes through Utilization Review in the patient journey.
Since joining Hansei in our early years, Emily has become a powerful advocate for patients navigating one of the most challenging parts of treatment: insurance and access to care. Through her leadership in utilization review, she helps ensure individuals can focus on healing and recovery rather than barriers, authorizations, and payer complexities.

“One of the greatest challenges people face when seeking treatment is navigating the complexities of insurance coverage. Emily has dedicated her career to helping remove those barriers so individuals can focus on what matters most, their recovery. Through her work in utilization review, she serves as a vital bridge between treatment providers and insurance payers, helping ensure patients receive the medically necessary care they need and deserve.”
— Lauren Jensen, Director of Utilization Review, Hansei Solutions
“Integrity is a defining characteristic of Emily’s work. She consistently upholds the highest ethical standards, balancing accountability to plan requirements with compassion for our clients and their families. Colleagues and external partners alike recognize Emily for her professionalism, precise communication style, and ability to navigate the high-pressure practice of utilization review without compromising her judgment.”
– Kevin Murphy, Psy.D., Clinical Director and Director of Utilization Review, AToN Center
Emily and her team serve as a vital bridge between treatment providers and insurance payers, advocating for medically necessary treatment and helping patients remain in care. Known for her calm leadership, attention to detail, and ability to build strong relationships with payer partners, Emily approaches every case with empathy, professionalism, and determination. Her work is grounded in the belief that every single day of care matters.
