For the summer of 2023, Hansei Solutions had the privilege of attending multiple conferences and events, including the NAATP National, West Coast Symposium, HFMA Conference, and the NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classic. Advocacy, outreach, and growth are three of Hansei’s biggest core motivators, and we’re always looking to give back to the community and partner with like-minded organizations.
This brief recap will go over our latest summer events for 2023, highlighting what they’re about and how Hansei Solutions got involved.
Hansei Solutions is a proud member of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) and had the opportunity to attend the 44th national conference in Washington, D.C., from May 21st through the 23rd. The conference theme was “Meeting the Challenges of Our Time: Acuity, Equity, Workforce, and Reimbursement.”
The NAATP National Conference is an engaging and influential event with over 100 addiction treatment providers and vendors, more than 700 attendees, and various educational sessions, luncheons, and award ceremonies. We were also able to promote the launch of Benji, one of the most innovative EHR solutions on the market.
One of our biggest highlights from the conference was the Women in Leadership Breakfast, where the ladies of Hansei sat down with other emerging and established women leaders in the behavioral health space. Together they discussed the power and impact of mentorship, tools for professional pathways for women, issues they faced in the workplace, and overall support and encouragement.
After the main three days, a Hill Day was organized on May 24th, and we were able to join together as treatment advocates and visit Capitol Hill. This provided a valuable opportunity to meet with Members of Congress and voice our concerns.
It’s important to Hansei to work closely with organizations like the NAATP that advocate for behavioral health facilities and the work they do, ensuring their services are recognized and reimbursed. We are dedicated to advocating for the fair treatment of individuals facing substance abuse and mental health challenges. Our mission involves addressing disparities in treatment and holding insurance companies accountable for providing appropriate coverage and support.

Right after the NAATP National, the team flew to Palm Springs, California, and attended the 2023 West Coast Symposium from May 31st to June 3rd. This educational event brings together addiction treatment and behavioral health experts from across the country, allowing them to bond and learn how to address some of the most significant challenges in the industry.
A few presentations included “The Integration of Spirituality and Psychotherapy,” “Evidenced Based Leadership – From Principles to Practice,” and “Medical and Recreational Cannabis: Practical Knowledge for Treatment Providers.” There were also networking breaks where Hansei was able to introduce ourselves and form connections with some of the leading behavioral health providers in the country. We were specifically excited about our “Benji Brunch,” where our team introduced Benji to healthcare providers and other field leaders, showing them the ins and outs of our latest EHR tool.
On June 16th, our team’s ambulatory surgery (ASC) and behavioral sectors represented Hansei at the NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classic in Nashville, Tennessee. Hansei has a close connection to NFL Alumni’s outreach and advocacy programs for retired players and their families, Tennessee youths, and various charities. They’ve raised over $150,000 for various charities, including Franktown Open Hearts, BRIDGES Domestic Violence Center, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.
This year’s event was hosted at Towhee Country Club and benefited the NFL Alumni Caring for Kids Charities and the American Cancer Society. Nashville’s local behavioral healthcare community came together to raise awareness for this cause, including our friends at Dreamscape Marketing, a digital marketing agency for healthcare providers, and Cumberland Heights, a local addiction treatment program.
At the end of June, from the 25th to the 28th, we attended the Healthcare Financial Management Association Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. This event focuses on healthcare finance and growth, with topics changing in each area from year to year.
The Healthcare Financial Management Association is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan dedicated to helping its more than 100,000 members, including finance professionals, hospitals, physician practices, and health plans, navigate the always-evolving healthcare system. HFMA collaborates with other key stakeholders to address industry challenges, provide guidance, and help practices grow to their fullest potential.
This year’s theme was “Cost-Effective Health: Turn It Up,” where more than 70 educational sessions were hosted. Some of the event content tracks included data and analytics, leadership and business strategy, and payment and care delivery models. Hansei Solutions was able to host a booth represented by both our ambulatory surgery centers and behavioral health sectors. We were also excited to attend a private show for HFMA Annual Conference Registrants, where country and bluegrass singers, as well as a comedian, performed at the Grand Ole Opry House.
